How to wear a classic polka dot skirt

I am not one for trends, my style is classic yet modern.  Classic pieces in your wardrobe are timeless and will outlast trends. Buying classic statement pieces allows you to mix and match and create multiple outfits. Let’s talk style, most importantly the classic polka dot skirt that gives a classic yet powerful look.

This navy polka dot skirt, I purchased a couple of months ago from Truworths and I must say it is one of my favourites.  A classic polka dot skirt transcends seasons. By matching it with various tops and shoes; making it possible to wear throughout the year.

I love the midi length and the fact that it is flair. The material is soft and I feel comfortable wearing this skirt.  Matching a skirt like this with a plain color top is essential.  For this look, I opted for an ivory colour chiffon top with lace detail which I purchased a year ago from Edgars.

With a polka dot skirt like this, I tend to keep accessories minimal. I matched it with gold hoop earrings which I bought years ago and a navy beaded collar necklace from Accessorize.

A polka dot skirt like this is best worn with heels, even just a little heel will do.  These navy blue Mary Jane I bought a year ago at Truworths. These shoes are really comfortable and I finished the look by wearing black opaque tights from Woolworths.

I hope this look inspired you and keep a look out for future posts on my fashion looks.
