Today is your birthday. I feel truly honoured to wish you on this very special day.
Born under the astrological sign, Taurus of which the zodiac symbol is the bull, it clearly defines your personality. A strong and resilient woman who continues to soldier on to overcome so many obstacles in your life. You stand firm in your believes and values and has taught this to us in word and deed.
Feisty and headstrong who is not afraid to bring your well-thought out points across so that others can have an understanding of your rationale. To the annoyance of your family of course but at the end we see your reasoning.
A people’s person; loved by both young and old. Your circle of friends are a testament that you are a genuine human being. Always nurturing, encouraging and guiding those who mean the most to you. The door of your home is always open to welcome those who visit. Making them feel relaxed and comfortable with the warmth of your presence.
A trustworthy person, who we can rely on and confide in. You take a strong interest in those around you and value your relationship with people.
A hard worker who is still going strong in your career that spans over 50 years. Yes as 70-something year old you still don’t see it fit to retire. Your dedication and work ethic speaks volumes. Not just in your teaching career but on all levels that you commit yourself. Once you set your mind on something, you make it happen no matter what it takes.
You detest bickering, gossip and a negative mindset. A person who hardly complain and will always see the good in people.
You are a compassionate soul to those who are less fortunate. Still being proactive and giving so much of your time to see to those who are in need. Your kindness and selflessness gives you a real purpose in life.
A God-fearing person who put your trust in Him. You are a woman of prayer whose faith is strong. Although you not perfect you have a forgiving heart.
You are humble, wise, loving and still so full of life.
Mom, today you celebrate another year. I thank God for His grace and mercy so that we as a family can still have you in our lives.
We appreciate everything that you do for us. You are a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. A role model to all of us.
Thank you for the person that you are and I am proud to call you my mom.
Happy Birthday and much love!

Thanks – I actually printed out the blog post and handed it to her on her birthday. Her eyes were filled with tears which of course made me emotional too. So sorry about your loss, I’m sure you treasure the sweet memories you have of your mom.

Thanks Kelly, I think we do cherish our mothers more when we become mothers too. Also as my mom is in her 70’s, every moment spent with her is special #fortheloveofblog
