• My Sunday Photo – Lourensford Wine Estate

This week’s Sunday photo features the beautiful Lourensford Wine Estate.

A couple of months ago we visited Lourensford Wine Estate. Situated in Somerset West and is approximately 50km from Cape Town. Being one of the oldest wine estates in Somerset West, this estate is full of rich history and scenery.

Welcomed by scenic splendour. Once you enter the gates; the beauty of the place stares back at you. Majestic trees fill the side of the road leading to the estate.

The estate has beautiful landscapes with lush gardens, green lawn, rose bushes, ponds and fountains. Walking and exploring the scenery is a must.

This estate does not just produce wine but it has bee hives, craft beer, coffee roastery, art gallery, fly fishing, fruit plantations, lifestyle centre and spa, function venue, a Montessori school and a forest which are famous for mountain biking and hiking.

The Millhouse Kitchen is the restaurant on the estate. The restaurant is child-friendly and offers a children’s menu and outside children’s play area with a jungle gym.

South Africa is such a beautiful country, and it really has some of the best wines. I got married in Franschoek and the next day we had a huge picnic at Boschendal. It was so special! 🙂 #sundayphoto
