GWK launches old macdonald has a farm

GWK are pioneers in the agricultural sector. Their main purpose is to improve lives. This mission and vision definitely has a ripple effect.

Firstly they start off by improving the lives of their personnel, who can grow in an innovative company and be part of something much bigger. Furthermore they improve the lives of farmers by supporting them in feeding the world; providing everything from inputs on the farm to the development of international markets. In doing so they also improve the lives of the consumers by connecting them with wholesome goodness from the farm.

Four years ago, GWK made history by being the first agricultural business to launch a TV advertisement. As a result they scooped up one Loerie and three Pendoring awards. View Post

    Eat Restaurant at Perdeberg

    eat restaurant perdeberg

One of the benefits of living in Cape Town is that we are 45 minutes drive away from the country side. Spoiled for choice when it comes to beautiful scenery makes driving to the country side well worth it.  Especially when you are seeking peace and tranquility combined with good food.  That is exactly what we did this past Sunday. My family and I headed out to Eat Restaurant at Perdeberg. Situated on the premises of Perdeberg Winery which lies at the foot of the magnificent Perdeberg Mountain. View Post

    12 Reasons I Love Winter

    12 reasons I love winter

It is mid-July and we are in the heart of winter. I must admit that I am finding it extremely difficult to get out of bed in the morning. My warm bed just seems so inviting compared to the grey and freezing weather outside. Despite the cold and rainy weather; winter is my favourite season – probably because I was born in June. One of the 12 reasons I love winter so much is the cosy comforts that comes with it.

Also if you know me, you will know that I don’t find it delightful to go out and drive anywhere at night time during winter. Therefore I don’t over-commit myself with social events that is scheduled in the evening as I prefer staying indoors. Winter allows me to slow down and in the process restores my mind, body and soul.  After all that is why it is called the Hibernation season. View Post

Astral Foods Powerful Lifeline Rescued World of Birds

astral foods powerful lifeline rescued world birds

Brent and I had the privilege to be invited by Astral Foods, one of South Africa’s leading poultry producers, to celebrate their new partnership with World of Birds.  We heard about the amazing work they have done thus far to assist World of Birds and their continued commitment to the sanctuary.  It also gave us an opportunity to explore the bird park – which I have to confess was my first time. Apart from dropping my youngest daughter off outside of the sanctuary during her grade field trip – but I suppose that one time doesn’t count.  I know I’m such a bad Capetonion.  This gem with its tropical setting is the largest bird park in Africa and is situated in Hout Bay.  After exploring the park; we had a scrumptious lunch at the Riverside Boutique Hotel in Hout Bay.
